Travel
Domestic Flights. Within Australia there are direct domestic flights to Cairns from Adelaide, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Bamaga, Brisbane, Darwin, Edward River, Gladstone, Gove, Mackay, Hamilton Island, Horn Island, Kowanyama, Mornington Island, Melbourne, Mount Isa, Normanton, Pompuraaw, Perth, Sydney, Thursday Island, Townsville, and Weipa. In other words, it's very easy to visit some Australian or New Zealand colleagues while you're here!

International Flights. All the major airline alliances fly into Cairns, and there are direct international flights from Auckland, Guam, Hong Kong, Nagoya, Narita/Tokyo, Osaka and Port Moresby. Onward connecting flights are available to numerous other worldwide destinations, from the direct ports served.
More airport and flight details here.

Transportation between Cairns airport and Palm Cove. There are at least 3 options:
* Novotel Palm Cove Resort bus. The trip is $15 each way. Please let the Resort know your flight details when you book your accommodation.
* Taxi. Taxis are $53-60 one way. Normal taxis hold up to 4 people, maxi-taxis hold up to 10, so this may be a cheaper option for a group. Taxis can be booked here.
* Rental cars. Here are the driving instructions; it's a pleasant 30 minute drive. I recommend a convertible!

Location of the Novotel Palm Cove Resort. The resort lies on both sides of Coral Coast Drive, covering 45 hectares (that's 111 acres for those still afflicted with imperial units).
